Hi, I finally got around to making my shop post and I was wondering whether:
a) I can promote this in my team comm (Starfish) and b) promote this in the Gardens comm (I know there is the rule about no promos but I wasn't sure if this applied to internal stuff)
I probably wouldn't do 30 seconds each, but I still might do 3 of the 10-second ones I had in mind. If I can talk anyone else into it that is. :)
Also, just from a personal standpoint I certainly don't feel 30 seconds of vid compares to 100 words of fic or 2 icons at all. Words can be completed quickly and 10 seconds of vid requires ripping/clipping/editing & merging music - it combines graphics and audio and is much harder from a technical standpoint, IMO I suppose the argument could be made that someone could use longer clips and fill 10 seconds relatively easily, but someone can ramble on and type up 100 words in just a few short minutes, too.
((and sorry for being one of *those* pesky participants - I just have very strong feelings about vidding and it seems to be undervalued a lot when compared with fic and graphics - LOL -- I'm good with whatever you decide))

This is my whole reasoning. I know vidding is more work than fic (probably why I don't do it more :P), but I also don't want people seeing 10 seconds and slapping together something without any thought or effort. That said, I'll lower it to 20 seconds. :)
For the record, I don't undervalue vidding. I love watching them when done well and I know it takes a lot of effort to do them really well. I just don't people slapping something together because they think it's easy and not because they want to do it.
I enjoy the activities and variety, but am not really active in landcomm-type stuff these days :( So I'm going to drop for the upcoming phase. I closed my shop and just left a note for skies.

Sorry, no. No promos of any kind except in the monthly recs post. :)

Like 10 seconds of vid would be same weight as 100 words of fic?
pretty please ... *batts eyelashes and offers cookies*

I do love cookies. :D

Any chance of reconsidering the requirement?
This is actually the sort of thing I had in mind to do:
